Stop Work Authority
Stop Work Authority is intended to prevent unsafe actions or conditions before an incident occurs. You have the authority and responsibility to stop work without fear of retaliation or blame. Five Steps of Stop Work Authority:
Stop the activity/behavior.
Notify the person in charge.
Involve the right people and evaluate the concern.
Correct the issue or come to an agreement on the safe way to proceed with the work.
Resume the work.
Do it safely or not at all. There is always time for safety!
